The purpose of the "Sewroom" project is to develop the activity of children, young people and local adults by creating and improving conditions for active intergenerational integration as well as the use and development of potentials and resources inherent in the diversity of generations through intergenerational education. It is also important to develop a passion for sewing, designing and, generally, creating products on one’s own, to develop interests and talents, to form such qualities as sensitivity to beauty, imagination, sense of aesthetics, creativity and patience. To broaden mental horizons, develop imagination, fantasy. Through creativity and expression, beneficiaries gain self-confidence, develop a sense of self-esteem and overcome the barrier of uncertainty and fear that often accompanies them on a daily basis.

"Sewroom" is more than a project. It is the concept of creating a place that connects generations. A place that promotes the idea of lifelong learning, developing knowledge and skills in a personal and social perspective. A place of social integration, activation and intergenerational education with the use of sewing machines and mutual learning. A place that provides an opportunity to show or discover the potential of people of different ages. An open space where everyone can be themselves. A meeting place where it will be possible to better understand each other and the needs of the persons from a given generation, and also to satisfy the social needs of anyone who wants to create it together with us.

The beneficiaries of the project are primarily children and young people from the School and Pre-School Complex No. 3 in Gdańsk, as well as their parents, siblings and neighbours.
